The Egyptian-British Chamber of Commerce and Egyptian British Business Council have the pleasure to invite you to join us at a Breakfast Briefing with Egypt's Minister of Transport, HE Dr.  Hisham Arafat Mahdi at 0915am for a 930am start on Thursday 30 November, in the Waterloo Room of the Institute of Directors (IoD) at 116 Pall Mall, London SW1Y 5ED. This event is moderated by Sir Jeffrey Donaldson, the PM's UK Trade Envoy to Egypt.

Dr. Mahdi will speak about current and planned developments in Egypt's transport sector. The Egyptian government is developing major new cities, including the new Administrative City east of Cairo, and El Alamein on the north coast. These new cities require transport links.

There are significant opportunities for UK business to get involved in Egypt's rail industry where the government is increasingly looking for private sector involvement. The government is further looking to develop 'smartroads' by using new IT & smart technologies to connect roads and public transport systems. Another priority is the upgrade and expansion of ports and dry ports.
