It is our pleasure to invite you to participate in our forthcoming trade mission to Egypt, organised in partnership with the Department for International Trade (DIT), the Egyptian British Business Council (EBBC), and the British-Egyptian Business Association (BEBA). The mission will take place from 11 to 14 November 2018 in Cairo.

The Government of Egypt recognizes the EU as a key player in the power and energy sector.  UK oil and gas company BP Plc. is investing heavily in the production of natural gas from West Nile Delta upstream developments, while Orascom and Siemens have jointly built three 4.8 GW combined-cycle gas power plants, these are among the largest in the world.

The Egyptian authorities are seeking private and international investment to expand its energy capacity and have already secured commitments and investments from around 70 companies to build 4.3 GW of wind and solar capacity by 2020.

In fact, Egypt is expected to surpass South Africa as Africa’s largest electricity market.

Following the implementation of its economic reform programme, Egypt’s fossil fuel subsidies decreased from 7% in FY2013/14 to 3% in FY2015/16; this is expected to decline further to 2.4% for FY2017/18.

Our three-day programme includes meetings with senior officials in government, site visits and B2B opportunities. Join us and explore the considerable trade and investment opportunities for UK business in Egypt. Download our programme here
