We are joined by Liam Smyth, Director of Trade Facilitation at the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) and Mohamed El-Sewedy, Chairman of the Federation of Egyptian Industries (FEI) to discuss the impact of COVID-19 on the Egyptian & UK business environment, support offered by both governments and the path towards economic recovery.

About the Speakers

Mr Liam Smyth is Director of Trade Facilitation at the BCC.  He engages with government on trade policy, represents the BCC on a number of working groups, contributes to consultations and sits on the International Chambers of Commerce (ICC) Technical Committee on Origin. The BCC represents the interests of many thousands of UK companies through a network of over 50 regional UK Chambers of Commerce. 

Mr. Mohamed El Sewedy has been Chairman of the FEI since 2013. He has also been a Member of the Egyptian Parliament since 2016. The FEI – through a network of 20 Chambers each representing an industrial sector - supports all businesses that operate in Egypt’s industrial sector by providing operational guidance and by lobbying to ensure the growth of its member companies.

This Webinar is moderated by Ian Gray OBE, Chairman of the Egyptian-British Chamber of Commerce with a welcome by Khaled Nosseir, Chairman of the British-Egyptian Business Association.
